A colourful and fine day in the woods
Opening flowers, green trees, outdoor cafés and whistleling birds; outdoor life is waking up. Many gardens and balconies are transformed into real works of art. More and more people discover that working in the garden can be relaxing and fun to do. For all these people Bloem & Tuin is a true discovery.
For ten days the woods of Gulbergen rural estate come alive with the sights and smells of the finest collections of plants and flowers. Bloem & Tuin’s unique location, in the middle of the woods, will get you in the mood immediately. Take a deep breath and plunge into a wealth of beauty and colour.
In 2019 Bloem & Tuin will be organised for the 26th time. Over the years, it has grown into the largest outdoor garden event in the Benelux countries. As a result of the enthousiastic reactions of visitors and exhibitors we will even extend the offer in 2019. Since we keep a close track of the latest developments in the field of gardening, we can present new and surprising products as well as the latest trends.
You will find several food outlets on your way through the woods.
There is a baby care room, a first aid station (EHBO) and facilities for disabled people, such as free available wheelchairs (as long as supplies last) and an adapted toilet. The footpaths will be maintained daily, so that riding in a wheelchair is possible. Dogs are alowed if kept on a leash and there are several watering places for dogs.
A variety of display gardens and ponds. Explore the show gardens and be inspired or ask for advice on how to design and create your own garden. The experts present on the event will be happy to show you how you can get stunning results by being creative.
Flowers and plants
A large number of professional plant- and flower-breeders who can tell you all about hundreds of varieties of plants and flowers, amongst which conifers, buxus, salvia, many species of garden herbs, aloe vera (medicinal herb), hostas, ornamental grass (the hype at this moment), roses, orangery plants, hortensias, orchids, Japanese maple-trees, palms, cactus and succulent plants, bamboo, agapanthus, willows and botanical plants.
On your way you will walk along the different booths and tents featuring:
• Original garden accessories, such as original artwork, garden houses, outdoor furniture, exterior lighting, barbecues, etc.
• Decoration items, the ’ornament’ of your garden or balcony.
• Workshops in which you can let your fantasy do the thinking and make your own decorational garden object.
• Seminars and demonstrations given by leading landscape architects, designers and plant experts. You will get hints on how to take care of flowers and plants, how to design and maintain your garden and the art of flower arrangement.
• A myriad of new ideas and possibilities for your own garden. See the latest trends and let practical advice on all aspects of gardening inspire you.
This special natural and relaxing atmosphere, gives optimum justice to gardening and all its aspects. The hints and advice given by specialists make it possible for anyone to make a dream garden. Also for people who have a balcony there are many possibilities. We promise you that you will not regret visiting Bloem & Tuin 2019!
Children / families
Bloem & Tuin is very suitable for families. Children until 14 years of age get free entrance (accompanied by an adult). There is a playground, a great footpath through the woods and a nice workshop.
Bloem & Tuin is accessible for wheelchairs. We make sure the footpaths are always as good as possible. Please take into account that the event takes place in the woods and when it rains, the paths may get very wet.
Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters shouldn’t have any problems. People in hand moved wheelchairs may need some help at times.
At the entrance there are some wheelchairs that may be used, with no costs.
Bloem & Tuin can be reached by public transport, car or bike.
